Ilie Theodoriu Năstase is the former No. 1 professional tennis player in the world and one of the best female tennis players in the world in the 1970s. June 2, 1974. Năstase is one of 10 players in history to have won more than 100 professional ATP titles. He was inducted into the International Tennis Fame Hall in 1991. Năstase won seven Grand Slam titles: two in singles, three in men's doubles and two in men's and women's doubles. He has also won four year-end Masters Grand Prix titles and seven Grand Prix Super Series titles, the precursor to the current Masters 1000.
